Susan Lee

Susan joined Studio Nexus in the summer of 2023, bringing with her a diverse background and skillset. Trained first as a biologist with a passion for the natural world, her path also took her through work in crafts, graphic design, and a deep immersion in technology. After receiving her Master of Architecture degree at Columbia University, a career in architecture became the backbone which continually integrates a growing collection of interests and studies.

Employed in higher education for over 25 years, Susan recently worked in Planning, Design and Construction at Dartmouth with a focus on learning space strategy and classroom transformations. In addition to institutional and commercial project management, Susan has regularly engaged with residential clients to help them improve their homes through renovations, additions, and new construction.

Nearing training completion to become a Passive House Certified Consultant, Susan brings a focused expertise in thermal envelope design to further the office's commitment to sustainable approaches to design.

When not in the office Susan loves being outside. She actively manages her land for biodiversity through engaging in beneficial forestry practices, bee-keeping, and amateur gardening. More than anything she loves walking the woods in all seasons with friends and dogs.
