Church Hill Residence

Originally designed by Lewis Davis of Davis, Brody Associates in 1976, this classic modernist home features curved walls, flowing spaces and plentiful windows and light, connecting it to the rolling Vermont landscape. The client sought to build a separate, accessible ground-level master bedroom addition. Instead, we analyzed the existing home configuration and developed options for incorporating an elevator to connect all levels to the existing second floor master suite. The resulting savings provided resources for the elevator and the reconfiguration of the master bedroom suite and the guest bedrooms.

A second phase involved renovation of the kitchen, living room, and offices. On the exterior, the design included a new curved balcony with integral sunshades and a new curved glass entry canopy at the main entry. We coordinated our design efforts with interior designer Eric Roseff and Raycroft Meyer Landscape Architects to maintain the essence of this distinguished modern home.
